Custom Glass
Cutting & Fabrication
Tempered, laminated, patterned, wire glass, and custom mirrors — cut, drilled, edged, and shaped to your spec. One-off jobs welcomed.
What we cut and fabricate
Glass Fabrication We Handle In-House
If you’ve got a piece of glass to cut, replace, fabricate, or specify — fireplace door, tabletop, shelving, specialty replacement, or something more unusual — you’re in the right place. If your spec involves something we can’t do in-house, we’ll source it from one of our fabrication partners and handle the rest. Here’s what we work with, what we do, and how to send us a spec.
Cutting
to your dimensions, including non-rectangular shapes, curves, and irregular cuts.
Drilling
for hardware, mounting points, fixtures, and pass-throughs.
Edge finishing
polished and beveled edges, plus other finishes depending on the application.
Shaping
round, oval, arched, or custom-traced shapes from a template you provide.
Tempering and lamination
sourced from our fabrication suppliers when the application requires safety glass.
Glass Types We Stock and Source
Each glass type does a different job. Knowing which one you need is half the spec — and we can help you figure that out:
Tempered glass
Heat-treated for strength. Required by code in railings, doors, low windows, and shower enclosures. Breaks into small cubes if it does break — the same kind of glass in a car’s side window. The most common safety glass we work with.
Laminated glass
Two layers of glass bonded with an interlayer. Holds together when broken — the same kind of glass in a car windshield. Used for security applications, overhead glass, large spans, and locations where falling glass would be a hazard.
Patterned and frosted glass
Decorative or privacy glass with a textured surface. Used for cabinet doors, partitions, transoms, and bathroom applications. We can match common patterns or source specialty ones.
Wired glass
Glass with embedded wire mesh — historically used for fire-rated applications and older industrial settings. Less common today, but we still handle replacement when a building’s original glass fails.
Mirror
Cut, polished, and edge-finished to spec. Bathroom mirrors get their own page — but for non-bathroom applications (closets, dressing rooms, gyms, display cases, furniture), this is where they live.
Specialty glass
Low-iron, low-E coatings, tinted glass, and other specialty products.
Common applications
What People Use Our Custom Glass For
A representative list of common requests. If your application isn’t on this list, send us the spec — most fabrication requests fit somewhere we already cover.
Fireplace door glass replacement
Heat-rated glass for wood and gas fireplaces.
Tabletops
Tempered or laminated glass for dining, coffee, and accent tables. Custom-shaped tops for irregular bases.
Shelving
Cut-to-spec glass shelving for cabinets, display areas, and built-ins.
Cabinet door glass
Patterned, frosted, or clear glass inserts for cabinetry.
Custom mirrors
Closets, dressing rooms, home gyms, display cases, furniture inserts.
Replacement specialty glass
For unusual fixtures, older buildings, or specialty applications where the original glass needs matching.
Transom and sidelight panels
Decorative or clear glass for entryway or interior transom windows.
Our Fabrication Work
Why Builders and Designers Bring Their Specs to Us
We source from major fabricators
Hartung Glass and PFG Glass — major Canadian glass fabricators — are part of our regular supply chain. The same glass going onto commercial storefronts and high-end residential projects is available for your one-off cabinet door or tabletop.
One-off jobs are welcomed
We do production runs and one-offs equally — single-piece cuts welcomed, especially when the spec needs more thought than a standard order.
Spec-first quoting
Most custom glass jobs can be quoted from a spec without an in-home measure. Send us dimensions, glass type, edge finish, and any drilling or shaping requirements; we’ll come back with a number.

Tempered glass is heat-treated for strength and shatters into small, relatively safe cubes when broken — the same type used in car side windows, railings, shower doors, and low windows near doors. Laminated glass bonds two layers together with an interlayer so it holds together when broken, like a car windshield. Tempered is the standard safety glass for most applications; laminated is used where you want the glass to stay in place after impact — overhead installs, security applications, and large spans.
-
Yes. We replace heat-rated glass for both wood-burning and gas fireplaces. Fireplace door glass is a specialty material that requires the right spec — it's a common request and something we handle regularly. Send us the dimensions and fireplace type and we'll quote it.
-
One-off jobs are actively welcomed. We cut, drill, edge, and shape single pieces as readily as production runs — if you need one piece of custom glass, that's a perfectly normal request for us.
-
Just send us what you have — dimensions, a photo of what you're replacing or working with, and a description of what you need the glass to do. We'll translate that into a proper spec and come back with a quote. You don't need to know the difference between tempered and laminated to get started.
-
Yes. We cut round, oval, arched, and irregular shapes in-house — including custom shapes traced from a template you provide. If you can describe or draw the shape, we can almost certainly cut it.
-
We deliver finished pieces to your address within our service area. For jobs that include installation, delivery is part of the install visit. Pickup from our shop is also available. Contact us to confirm delivery options and range for your project. [NEEDS CLIENT INPUT — confirm delivery range limits and any minimum order policy.]
-
It depends on the glass type and the job. Standard cuts from stock glass are often quick. Tempered or laminated processing adds time — that work goes through our fabrication suppliers (Hartung Glass and PFG Glass). We'll give you a lead time at the quote stage. [NEEDS CLIENT INPUT — confirm in-house vs. outsourced fabrication and realistic lead times.]
-
Yes. We take spec'd work from designers and architects regularly — dimensions, glass type, edge finish, drilling requirements. If you have drawings or a specification package, send it to us and we'll quote against the spec.
